As part of its multi-annual “Geneva, city of trees” programming, the City of Geneva is pleased to host this event at the Plainpalais community centre from 12 to 15 October 2023, bringing together some thirty international speakers, all specialists in the field of trees and forests adopting a singular and diversified approach combining economics, ecology, science and traditions relating to trees.
Schooling in forests will take centre stage this year along with primary forests. All the conferences and activities will address the protection of trees, forests and biodiversity in light of the climate emergency.
Conferences, round tables, film screenings, an exhibition of sketches by Francis Hallé and the creation of a fresco by the pupils of several classes will be on the programme, just as they were during the first Tree Forum held in May 2022 in Pont-en-Royans (Isère).
Meeting the public
All the speakers will take time to meet the public in order to share their knowledge, beliefs and shared ambitions, like all the elements that make up a forest. Organised by the association Arbres Sciences Et Tradition (ASET), the second Tree Forum is supported by numerous institutional partners, associations and benefactors who share the same values, and in particular by the City of Geneva and the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
